Take Me Outside

Beckett may only be 9 months old but I can already tell he is an outdoors guy.

Every time I take the dog out he tries to follow. Yesterday he even figured out how to slide the back door open when I took her out!

He also often pulls up on the glass and gets upset when he can't go out.

Lately, whenever I close the back door and he hasn't gotten to go out. He cries.
So, now I try to carry him while also taking out the dog.

I cannot wait to have a big fenced in yard at our new house for the boys to just run and play. No more months of level 9 UV rays and temps that are constantly getting up to the mid 90's.

I anticipate lots of outdoor adventures and probably some backyard camping.

Just 6 more days of packing and we're on our way north! And two more months until our new house is finished. :)

I think our new yard will be a nice 1st Birthday present for our littlest guy.

A bit of a stressful week...

This week has been full of emotions.

It started off with excitement:
Yay! We're under contract with both Florida houses! Our home we live in was under contract within 10 days of listing and our investment property that we rented out last year was under contract within 2 days!!
Then stress:
Holy cow, we have to pack everything up and move within 3.5 weeks!

Then, Monday night, Barker tripped and hurt his arm. Tuesday morning was spent at the doctor's office and getting X-rays. Thankfully nothing is broken, but it seems he has "nursemaid's elbow." The doctor wasn't able to pop his arm back into place either. So, for two+ days now he hasn't been using his left arm. It just dangles sadly at his side. He can move it, but he doesn't want to. He'll say, "that hurts, ouch."
We are headed back to the doctor this morning and if he can't "fix" it, we'll be going to a specialist. :(
(He has learned to use his feet to he'll take Legos apart now)

Meanwhile, Beckett is clingy and fussy as tooth number 4 is trying to break through. It took him nearly 2 hrs to fall asleep last night. At least he's snugly.

And finally, as I took the dog out this morning it became evident that the spicy chicken wings she stole off the counter Tuesday night are not digesting well... I'll leave it at that.

Fortunately, I've actually managed to get quite a bit packed in spite of all this. So, I'm feeling positive & productive.
And the boys are hanging in there.

Prayers appreciated!

Update! Thursday evening:

The doctor was unable to pop Barker's arm back into place so after a quick scramble Beckett got to spend the afternoon with Aunt Hannah...

while Barker and I headed to the ortho specialist.

In the end, based on the way he holds and uses his arm, plus some indicators on the X-Ray, they determined he has a fractured elbow.
(Barker liked checking out his X-rays)

Now Barker has a waterproof cast for three weeks. It comes off the day before we fly out!

On they way home and most of the afternoon Barker has been telling me, "I don't like it."

He cried when he woke up and it was still there. But I think he's slowly getting used to it. Just 2 weeks and 6 more days Little Ironman...

Fun Friday: Baking Muffins

Barker ended up getting dressed before breakfast this morning, so I didn't want to give him cereal and milk to spill on his clothes.

Instead, we made muffins!

It was just a simple package, all we had to do was add milk. But Barker was excited to grab a stool and a spatula.

Then, after the "light" mixing, I handed Barker the spatula for licking.
He got close but then giggled and backed away. Eventually, I licked it to show him it was okay. Then he tried and was a fan. ;)

Later, while eating the muffins, I got up to make some tea. When I came back, I saw my muffin was gone! I started to blame the dog until I looked over at Barker. "Did you take my muffin Barker?" Barker just giggled and took another bite.

Oh well, we have a few more.
